This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated practitioner or manager to join a team of experienced, skilled and supportive managers, delivering practice improvement in the Integrated Safeguarding Unit.
You must be social work qualified and an experienced social work practitioner or manager, fully committed to multi-agency, partnership work in safeguarding children. You must have knowledge of the Care Planning Regulations, the role of the Independent Reviewing Officer and the issues that face looked after children and care leavers.
You should have a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to make sound decisions and judgements in relation to social work practice.
You will lead day to day service delivery which includes managing and supervising one of three teams of Independent Reviewing Officers in the city, plus management of fostering reviewing officers. You will be giving advice to a range of children’s social work staff, managers and other agency partners. You will work closely with the other two IRO team managers as part of the wider Integrated Safeguarding Management Team, and deputise for the Service Delivery Manager when required.
You must have excellent knowledge and experience of best practice in relation to the crucial role that all agencies have in safeguarding. Above all you should be able to demonstrate your ability to put safeguarding children at the heart of all that you do.
