Independent Reviewing Officers: register for South East Community of Practice event

Communities of Practice (CoP)

Independent Reviewing Officers and those who manage IROs are welcome to register for this event.

Host: South East Region IRO Network

Date: 16th April 2021, 9.30 – 11.30

Topic: Mental health: Children in Care

Register your place: HERE

Why attend

Children in Care who are placed Out of Area (OOA) sometimes have inconsistent experience of accessing health, and specifically mental health support as part of their care. COVID-19 Lockdown has further intensified these difficulties for some children.

The purpose of the event is to provide a safe space for IROs to talk together with CYP Mental Health Clinical Leaders to further develop and improve statutory care planning, and consider how the timeliness and reliability of notifications to OOA social care and CAMHs services might be improved.

We will consider best practice as set out in the South East Children in Care Shared Agreements – a collaboration between NIROMP’s South East IRO Network and South East System Leaders.

We will be joined by colleagues from Local Authorities, Nuffield Family Justice Observatory and CORC, who will be sharing best practice updates and facilitating areas for discussion.

Additional Benefits of attending

  • Join colleagues in sharing best practices and creating new knowledge to advance professional practice.
  • Hear from guest speakers and share learning from the latest initiatives and research.
  • Introduction to resources that will help you make effective use of guidance, tools and new insights relevant to your area of practice.
  • Opportunities to network and learn from others
  • Update your CPD.
