NYAAG: The National Youth Ambassadors Advisory Group

ASPIRING FOR MORE

The National Youth Ambassadors Advisory Group (NYAAG) is a group of young people and adults with care-experience from all over England.

NYAAG is made up of a membership of care-experienced young people aged 16 years upwards from across the country. Advisory groups bring their valuable knowledge and expertise to support our work in partnership with other organisations.

NYAAG’s aim is to make sure the voices of children in care around the country are heard.  As ambassadors for change, they raise awareness, challenge stigma and make life in care better for everyone.

WHy the group exists

We want to challenge stereotypes of children in care and we think the best people to do that are the children and young people themselves. A National Voice will amplify young people’s voices to influence the national policies and practices that discriminate against them, and in turn improve the local care they receive.

Young people in care are the experts in their own lives; they know more about the care system than anyone. We want to make sure they are listened to.
