Over 1,000 children in care in England are currently missing out on independent mentor support they may be entitled to by law, according to new research by Barnardo’s and the National Independent Visitor Development Project.

To make sure children get the support they are legally entitled to, Barnardo’s and the National Independent Visitor Project are asking government, local authorities and voluntary sector organisations to consider signing up to a new set of quality standards. Read more: here
