Research on Supervised Family Time: IRO Focus Group Invitation by Dr. Georgia Philip

Dear IROs,

Dr Georgia Philip is a Lecturer in Social Work at University of East Anglia. She is proposing research to explore supervised parental contact for looked after children.

The research has been purposefully designed to include the perspectives of Black and Global majority families, fathers, carers.

Georgia will host a focus group early September (next month) and is keen for IRO involvement.

The focus group will help Georgia and colleagues consideration of research priorities. Exploration of a range of practice issues and dilemmas will be considered in pursuit of this.

The focus group will meet early September and expressions of interest are now being sought.

The focus group will be hosted via M-Teams from 1pm – 2pm. Group size will be about 6-10 people. Proposed dates to meet are as follows and you are only expected to attend the one session, which is expected to last no more than one hour: 

  • Wednesday 4th September 2024. 
  • Thursday 5th September 2024. 
  • Monday 9th September 2024. 
  • Thursday 12th September 2024.
