Ofsted in the Mind – IRO Survey

Dear IRO Colleague,

Dr Anna Harvey, senior clinical lecturer in social work at the Tavistock has requested my involvement in an ‘Ofsted on the mind’ event. The event will involve a panel discussion on the process and impact of inspection and for this I need your help please.

My own view is that the new ILACS is a welcome step forward. I believe it is contributing to an improving sector, and most importantly, that it is meeting the needs of the children who we all joined the profession to help and support. But, I want your views. I want to collect the best IRO intelligence possible.

What I need from you please:

I need IROs and managers responsible for IROs, to complete a brief survey and return to me please at: SharonLMartin1@outlook.com

Please download the survey letter and survey template here:  National IRO Managers Partnership.survey letter and template. I am happy to receive a hand-written, scanned copy if easier.

Deadline: 29th April 2019

About the survey

The survey has been designed to elicit IRO views and experiences about the process and impact of inspection. The core principles of inspection as defined by Ofsted are:

  • focusing on the things that matter most to children’s lives
  • being consistent in our expectations of providers
  • prioritising our work where improvement is needed most
