This privacy policy covers NIROMP’s collection, processing and storing of users’ data from our digital platforms, including this website, our mailing lists, surveys and social media platforms. NIROMP’s website is hosted by an external vendor ‘WordPress’. Our website is hosted via an external vendor WordPress and our Data Controller uses Microsoft Outlook’s email facility. NIROMP also uses Survey Monkey to collect feedback and survey information.

Sometimes, at our discretion and with due care, NIROMP includes and signposts to other third party products or services via our website. External and third party sites should have separate and independent privacy policies. We have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites but we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

NIROMP’s Data Controller aims only to include safe and relevant external links on our website. The contents of any externally linked website however cannot be guaranteed or verified by NIROMP’s Data Controller.

Opting in to email notifications and other digital communications from NIROMP

We collect and process your email address data in order to provide you with NIROMP news and updates relevant to public services with a particular focus on improving practice and policy with children in care. We will never knowingly share your contact details with others without your permission.

If you sign up to Email News, our free email notification, we will hold and process your data (email address) in order to send you notifications via our external vendor ‘WordPress’ and other communications and queries may be followed up via our Data Controller’s Microsoft Outlook account.

We will use your email address to get in touch with you by email. We will not share your email with any organisation other than our external vendor sites namely: WordPress, Microsoft Outlook and Survey Monkey.

Social Media Platforms

Social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook operate on their own terms and conditions which visitors to NIROMP’s pages should read with regard to their privacy and personal data. Twitter’s privacy policy is here and Facebook’s privacy policy is here.

Our website offers social sharing buttons which help users share web content directly from web pages to the social media platform in question. Before using such social sharing buttons users should know that they do so at their own discretion and note that the social media platform may track and save your request to share a web page respectively through your social media platform account.

Posting blogs, adding comments and sharing information via NIROMP website

NIROMP’s website users are advised that neither NIROMP or our Data Controller has control over what users of our website share via social media.

NIROMP will not obtain personally-identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us, nor will such information be sold or otherwise transferred to unaffiliated third parties without the approval of the user at the time of collection.

Monitoring users’ behaviour

NIROMP’s Data Controller will monitor aggregate data about users’ behaviour on our social media platforms using the tracking data gathered by the respective platforms. We will use this data in anonymised aggregate form and will not link it to any identifying information or use it for profiling individual users or organisations.
