“Adoption without parental consent is wrong in principle”

The Family Justice Council held its 9th Annual Debate and panel discussion on Tuesday 24 November 2015.

The topic for this year’s debate was adoption. The motion read:

“Adoption without parental consent is wrong in principle”

The event was chaired by the Rt. Hon. Sir James Munby, President of the Family Division of the High Court, and Chairman of the Family Justice Council. The speakers were:

  • Louise Tickle – Freelance journalist specialising in education and social affairs.
  • Dr Claire Fenton-Glynn – Lecturer in Family Law, University of Cambridge.
  • Sir Martin Narey – Chair of the National Adoption Leadership Board.
  • Professor Julie Selwyn – Professor and Director of the Hadley Centre for Adoption and Foster Care Studies, University of Bristol.
