An exciting opportunity as arisen for an experienced IRO Operational Manager to work in our Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service. You will be accountable for the quality of the service that is offered to each individual looked after child. The role will include providing oversight, professional advice and management support to each IRO. As a registered social worker with Social Work England you will place a high level of importance on social work values and practice. You will have significant social work experience and an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, practice theory and research. You will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the legal framework and care planning process governing how the local authority meets its responsibilities towards looked after children. You will be responsible for providing leadership to the IRO team and continuing to drive forward high-quality practice throughout Children’s Services through the establishment of quality assurance mechanisms and regular reviews of practice. An ability to build strong working relationships is essential and knowledge of Signs of Safety is desirable.
