In honour of International Women’s Day, this wonderful event celebrated diversity and leadership in social work. This keynote session welcomed Sarah Blackmore, executive director of strategy, policy and engagement at Social Work England. She reflected on the journey she has taken from social work training in Ireland and working with families, to leading the strategic direction of the specialist regulator for social work. She also welcomed other female leaders in social work including Rashida Baig MBE to reflect on the role of women in leadership across the sector and what more can be done to overcome the barriers to women taking on leadership roles.
