Always Heard Advocacy Seminar 2022: A Voice for All

Source: Coram Voice

We are delighted to be hosting another Always Heard Advocacy Seminar. This year’s theme is “A Voice for all: Supporting children and young people who miss out on advocacy support”.

Once again this will be held on Zoom on Wednesday 30 March 2022.

We will be bringing together young people and representatives from children’s rights and advocacy services, and local authorities to look at how we can all help young people on the edges of the care system who are missing out on advocacy.

Speakers and discussion will look at:

  • Young people’s entitlement to advocacy. Who is missing out?
  • The difference that advocacy can make to young people on the edges of care.
  • What can we do to make sure that all young people on the edges of care get the advocacy support they need?
  • FOCUS: Advocacy strategies for supporting asylum seeking children who are not believed about their age.

There will also be an introduction and overview of the Always Heard annual report for 2021, highlighting some of the enduring barriers to advocacy that young people have even when they have a statutory entitlement to this support.

We look forward to you joining us in a lively and enlightening conversation about these important issues.
