Job advert

We are looking to recruit to our pool of casual Child Protection Advisers and Independent Reviewing Officers. Candidates may have the skills, experience and knowledge to either Chair Child Protection Conferences, or Children Looked After Reviews, or they may be sufficiently experienced to perform both roles. Whilst hours cannot be guaranteed for these roles, we are keen to hear from candidates who are prepared to be flexible and responsive.

We need someone who is emotionally intelligent, who possesses high levels of confidence, which allows them to scrutinise and respectively challenge practice from a child-centred perspective. Scrutinising pace and purpose for improving the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children will be a crucial aspect to the role as will your relentless focus on achieving permanent solutions for children. You will also need to be flexible and creative in your approach to the work, as well as having a comprehensive knowledge of legislation, policy and procedure.

You will be required to be registered with the HCPC and have a CQSW / Social Work Diploma (or equivalent), front-line management experience and be looking for a role where you can promote best practice in all areas of safeguarding or looked after children.
