The ‘Safe Space for Women’ website is a fantastic resource to support Gypsy Roma Traveller women with a broad range of invaluable topics to improve their safety and access to support.
This Traveller Movement microsite functions as a toolkit for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller women. Professionals can access learning and development resources to support anti-racist practice, and can share specialist resources with families who may welcome access to support from someone who shares their experience.
There is a lot of anxiety and fear about Social Services (or Children’s Services) reported by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller families and so this page covers more about what social workers do.
The aim is for mainstream services to be educated and aware of the safety issues that impact Gypsy, Roma and Traveller women leaving abusive relationships. Statutory and non-statutory services must be inclusive, welcoming and anti-racist.
