Independent Reviewing Officers in Care Proceedings

Thank you to Gabrielle Jan Posner and Trinity Chambers Chelmsford for this helpful post which sets out why IRO’s views could helpfully be formalised as part of legal proceedings: Getting the Most Out of Independent Reviewing Officers in Care Proceedings

NIROMP and Cafcass are working collaboratively to promote greater consistency of best practice – to ensure the IRO’s views are always sought. We are not where we want to be but we are definitely working on it! Collegially.

Our mission is to help bring about improvements in practice and policy. Holding children at the centre of what we do through our work with and for them, we aim to lead and promote excellent care and services. The partnership consists of an elected Chair and elected Regional Leads who represent their regions at a national level (two from each of the nine regions within England).
